Ok, this thing REALLY gets on my nerves.
When I buy something and pay in cash, say a bottle of cider (mmm cider) for £2.04 and I have to use a £10 note, the cashier often gives me the change in this order:
£5 note
loose change
So that the coins are sliding about on top of the paper note! It makes so much more sense to give me the coins in my hand and then let me grab the note with my fingers! Surely they would want it that way too? Are people always this stupid? It's not the end of the world, but it sure is annoying!
Anyone else have this problem?

HAHAA Im with u bro! I fuckin hate it when they do that... It makes it harder to put it in ur wallet to!
ReplyDeleteIt's acceptable when they hand it in a way that makes it possible to slide the coins into the other hand. But yeah, separately would be much better.
ReplyDeleteHappened to me today actually, you could almost say it grinds my gears =O
ReplyDeleteYou're crazy, man. xD But I really like your blog. :D

ReplyDeleteI agree, everything/everyone needs to switch to a e-pay of some sort so that no exchange of money from hand to hand is done, only by device to device.
ReplyDeleteUK banknotes look so cool. I pay for everything with credit cards or debit now anyway though.
ReplyDeleteI work in a shop and thus, have some information. Cashiers oftem pick up change by the most expensive denomination to the smallest (easiest way to count it) so it often ends in notes on the bottom with coins on top, although, I do tend to hand the person a not, let them do something with it and then give them the cins...or the other way around :)
